Info Typ: Event
2012 - TBA

Do you speak Type 3? Then this is your event.

Squarebacks, Fastbacks, Notchbacks, Type 34 Ghias and even SP2s will be swarming into the town of Manitou Springs. Normally people think of Roswell as the city visited by aliens.

Make your plans now to attend the 6th Type 3 Invasion. If you missed the last one in Carthage, Missouri, USA in 2010, you missed a great gathering of Type 3 VWs and their owners. Over 30 Type 3s made the trip to Carthage to enjoy great commradrie, great cars, Type 3 specific technical sessions, and other activities. You don't want to miss the 2012 show.

The Type 3 Invasion is Brian Fye's idea to host a Type 3 only show in small towns across the US. The first Invasion happened in Parma, Idaho as a trial of Brian's idea to have a gathering of Type 3 owners who knew each other online, primarily. The event was a huge sucess with over 30 Type 3s making the trek to Parma. The next event two years later was held in Hershey, Pennsylvania to have an event on the East coast. The third event was again on the West coast in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. The Invasions have been also been held in Michigan and Missouri using the same format at the first. Small town, many, many Type 3s.

The 2012 show will be in Manitou Springs, Colorado.

VWvortex.com

The "Vortex" is the quintessential watercooled VW forum. The VW Vortex undoubtedly has the most traffic out of all of the VW forums. Only vw.com surpasses the number of users. The content outside of the forums is second to none, and is amazingly comprehensive and current.

VolksZone.com

Those crazy Brits, they are always calling car parts something weird. Like: tyres, wings and bonnets. See what is happening with the aircooled world on the other side of the pond. [Or, maybe this is your side of the pond]

AutoStadt.de

Spreken sie Deutech? Nin? That's OK. Click on the English link at the top-right. The Auto Stadt is Volkswagen's very own amusement park is probably the best way to describe the Auto Stadt.

The Samba

Photographs, links, literature, information, and classifieds.

If you're into Typ 3's or Typ 2's, or any aircooled VW (watercooled and Porsche is covered as well) – this is *the* place to be. Better than eBay for parts and cars for sale online.

The amount of information on this site is nothing short of spectacular. This site is run by Everett and Jan Barnes, both no strangers to aircooled VWs. Originally, the site was called VW Planet.

At the top-level, the Classifieds section is kept fresh by all of the users, and has a fully functional search option. The Forums are where most of the action takes place. If an enthusiast has posts a question, it is typically quickly answered. (Do a search first!) Also, arguably the best Gallery of images covering a wide array of VWs. And lastly, Community, Archives and Technical section offering a mass of info.
